 I had the absolutely pleasure of spending the afternoon with this fabulous family this week! When Caitlin asked for a beach shoot in the afternoon, I was a little scared of how bright the sun was this particular day, but I was up for the challenge. We got some beautiful beach photos and then made our way to our secondary location that had a bit more shade for our light eyed squinty little ones. I absolutely love the fun and energy that this family brought to the shoot with them even if it was a little too much energy from Martin who pretty much ran around the whole time! =)

Alex - Norfolk Virginia Beach Newborn Photography

I had the privilege of spending the morning with this awesome family this week! They are welcoming

little Alex into their family and I am so honored to be a part of it. I am obsessed with the

aviation/Navy theme of several of the props that Mandi had for me to use! So much personality

throughout this shoot and I couldn't be more excited to share with you all!

 The next series of photos is my absolute favorite. I love the simplicity of the natural light window as the background. And I love the love that you can feel for baby Alex!

Isabelle - Newborn Photography

 I had the privilege of doing Emily & Benjamin's maternity photos and I couldn't wait to meet their little one! I knew she was going to be absolutely precious and so loved. I love the way their lifestyle newborn session turned out. The black and white makes it so personal and almost surreal.

Sammy & Darin - Pre-Deployment Session

 Sammy reached out to me about getting some photos done before Darin left on deployment. I was more than happy to capture some special memories for them even though it was FREEZING out! Sammy braved the weather and even more a short sleeved shirt. I think she's crazy ;) 

The ship that Darin is on is in the same group as the ship that my husband is on, so Sammy and I are having similar deployment experiences. I know there are so many more who are deployed or who have been deployed. All of you are in my thoughts and prayers. Thanks Sammy & Darin for spending some of your last time together with me!

This or That? Help a Photog Out!

Today is one of those perfectly relaxed days for a photographer when I just wake up, I'm all up to date on editing, and I can work on my craft. Let me tell you, if you don't like sitting in front of a computer all day, even on days you don't have any editing to do, then photography is not the career for you! =)

So ladies and gents, I'm working on perfecting my black and white overlay and settings and I need some feedback from you lovelies. Because, what you like is almost definitely what my clients will like. Do you prefer the top photo, with more contrast, more depth and more dark colors coming through? Or do you prefer the bottom photo that has a little less contrast, is more dreamy and features less dark colors? Help me out folks! I value your input! =)
