Wild
horses and sandy feet, off-road adventures, sparklers and fireworks,
mason jars and a private
chef are just a few of the PERFECT details of this small North Carolina wedding. Asa and Emily
vacationed in Corolla, North Carolina last year and absolutely fell in love with it. They decided it
would be the perfect place to get married, so they rented out a beach house for everyone and planned
their perfect destination wedding including only their closest friends and family!
Their beautiful small wedding left nothing to be desired in terms of perfectly coordinated details and
family fun! We started off the day in their beach house getting dressed, finishing up hair and make up
and finalizing details before we headed off to the chapel in the woods on the water.
Emily rocked a short lace dress with beautiful scalloped sleeves, navy shoes and an assorted pink
bouquet. Asa and Emily's four year-old daughter, Bristol, wore a short lace dress just like Momma's
with a navy and pink decorative flower on the front. (Side note: isn't that the cutest name?!) Bristol is
so full of energy and spunk! Silly faces and giant smiles certainly do not run short on this little face.
After the ceremony, we took lots of family shots and then saddled up in their 4-wheel drive vehicle
for some off-road beach driving! We were on a horse hunt! Asa and Emily wanted to find some of the
horses that run wild in Corolla for some stunning wedding photos and after almost getting stuck in
the sand, we succeeded! Not only did we get some beautiful photos with the wild horses, but we took
some photos in the rain AND on the beach. These two were a tough pair, they didn't let the rain stop
them from hopping out of the car every time I saw a great spot to shoot. Thank you so much guys,
your photos are that much more beautiful because of it!

As we walked into their beach house after our adventures, the tables were beautifully decorated with
a burlap table runner, mason jars, wild flowers, and other nautical decor. The private chef was hard at
work creating an amazing meal for everyone that included a seafood bake and quite possibly the most
delicious vegetable medley I've ever had at a reception. Yeah, I know, it's just a vegetable medley, but
from someone who LOVES veggies, I know what I'm talking about =)
We finished up the night with the little ones jumping in the rain puddles and sparklers for everyone.
Now if that doesn't sound like a perfect summer night, then I don't know what does! I think it was
some of these little ones' first time playing with sparklers and the photos are just priceless little
amazed faces. So much fun to witness!
Thank you, Asa and Emily, for including me in your perfect wedding day. I had so much fun hanging
out with you and your family and being able to capture the love and fun that you guys share.
Look at this face of Asa seeing how beautiful Emily is in her dress!
I almost never do a matte edit on photos, but this one was just far too gorgeous as a matte. I love how
artistic the wind and that little smile are in momma's arms. Precious!
